Formerly known as Lusaka International Airport, now it is called Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. The airport was renamed in honour of the first president of the Republic of ZambiaKenneth Kaunda by Michael Chilufya Sata, the fifth president of the republic of Zambia.

Kenneth Kaunda International Airport is located off the Great East Road, approximately 14 kilometres by road, northeast of the central business district of Lusaka, the capital of Zambia and the largest city in that country and the airport has a capacity of two million passengers per year.
