Tampa International Airport, gateway to the warm and tropical peninsula that is Florida. Fly in and spend your days sunning yourself on the beaches.

The airport is located 6 nautical miles west of Tampa's CBD in Florida, United States. It serves the Tampa Bay area. The airport has been praised for it's pleasant architecture and design of the central terminal. The "landside" / "airside" design connects people movers to satellite gates. In 2011 the airport processed well over 16 million passengers.

The Airport is divided into different airside buildings, each with departure gates and amenities necessary for the traveller.

Dining and shopping: The Landside building has a plethora of dining options and shopping selections. The airside buildings (there are four of them) also have a number of food and beverage options and retail shops. Food choices include eateries such as Pizza Hut, Chili's too and Popeye's and cafe's such as Starbux. Duty Free shops in each airside building opens 2 hours prior to international departures.

Children: Never fear about waiting for a flight with children. Each Airside building has one or two play areas for the Kid's. So let them play while you relax before your flight.

Art: If you want to enhance your travel experience or just find something to do while you wait for your flight, check out the Public Art exhibits. Located all around the airport are art works to represent Florida's history and culture.

Transportation: For when you land, scheduled buses and charter buses leave from the airport, for where you may need to go. Taxi's to your destination start at a minimum of $15. But why not have the freedom of a rental car. Go wherever you want (including the following list of destinations) when you want. Book one ahead, online at Tampa Airport Car Rental.
